Rejected Super Bowl Commercial Airs on NRB Network
NRB Network recently began airing a commercial rejected by Fox Sports for nationwide broadcast during the 2011 Super Bowl due to its reference to scripture.
The spot invites game day viewers to look up John 3:16 and consider its meaning.
Part of the “LookUp 316” initiative from Birmingham-based Fixed Point Foundation, the ad seeks to encourage sports fans to explore the true meaning behind John 3:16—a Bible verse regularly used by athletes like Tim Tebow to share their faith.
The thirty-second spot directs viewers to website
www.lookup316.com
where they can learn more about the scripture.
“From day one, our mission has always been to use our platform to impact the culture.
We appreciate LookUp 316’s vision and simple message and we believe our viewers will also appreciate it,” said NRB Network President & CEO, Troy A. Miller.
